How To Survive The Christmas Holidays
Deck the halls…it’s Christmas again.
Now, we don’t know about you but for us this time of year can be a tad busy. By the time you actually get to sit down with a mince pie and sherry it’s already the New Year and time to get going all over again.
Forget about what you’re going to buy for Auntie Mary, whether the turkey will fit in the oven and if that massive Rudolph will actually stay fixed to the roof this year (don’t ask) – you’ve still got a million and one things to do before you leave the office. Are we right?
Don’t worry if you don’t have a multi-million-pound budget for TV advertising, you don’t have to do a lot to make a big impression with your festive marketing.
1. Gifts and cards
Everyone loves a present and Christmas is a great time to say thank you to clients you’ve worked with throughout the year. It’s also a great way to reconnect with anyone you’ve lost touch with.
Creating a company Christmas card allows you to contact your database and generate some new engagement. We always make ours a little bit interactive so it’s different, engaging and festive, with a Christmas prize to our winner.
2. Networking and Christmas parties
‘Tis the season. Everyone is having a Christmas party and it’s time to dust off your sparkly shoes and get along to one or two! The festive season always makes people jollier and at this time of year there is absolutely loads on. So, make some time for a Christmas cocktail and get some new connections ready for the New Year.
3. Get festive visually
A really quick and easy way to make everything CHRISTMAS is to make your immediate visuals festive. By this we mean your email signatures, your social media headers and your website banners. In most cases it is a pretty easy fix to add a sprinkle of holly, a flurry of snow and lashings of glitter.
4. Prepare for the new year
There is nothing worse than coming back in (about a stone heavier) after the Christmas holidays, trying to remember what on earth you did in December. Get things organised now and ready for when you come back so you can pick everything up seamlessly in January. And remember to de-Christmas your digital media.
5. Set an out of office
It is Christmas. It is time to put your feet up, indulge and reflect on the year. Have a proper break without interruptions and come back into your beautifully organised office in January, refreshed and ready to take on 2018.
