RizkMcCay has been around for 15 years but our team’s expertise in design and marketing far outstretches this. This experience has led us to develop processes and ways of working that we know delivers results, and we want to share that knowledge with you, so much so that we have presented at a variety of events over the years. Here’s a look at some of the things we’ve done.

Better Bidding – Impact of Design on the Tender Process
As well as traditional graphic design and marketing services, we also carry out a substantial amount of bid support for our clients. Through years of experience we have built up a vast amount of knowledge in the best ways to approach a bid, what to consider and how good design can elevate a bid.
A client we had recently worked on a bid with invited us to present at a monthly APMP (Association of Bid and Proposal Management Professionals) event on the subject of design on the tender process.
We addressed the topic by demonstrating how the use of graphics and design can improve bids, and how our experience of securing over £2bn of public and private sector contracts for our clients in the last year has led us to a fool proof process.
University of Lincoln
Branding Presentation to Students
We were approached by University of Lincoln to present to their graphic design students about branding, the creative design process and how we approach a project.
The presentation covered how collaboration is key throughout the creative process, a balanced team is imperative and good communication amongst the team and with a client is vital.
We debunked the myth that a brand is just a logo, discussing the various design and copywriting components of a brand and the marketing theory that goes with it.
Our client GT3 Architects invited us to present at their Headspace team day. The subject we chose to present on was ‘top tips to build creative teams’.
We covered areas such as: creating diverse teams across age, gender and experience; no idea is a bad idea; respect everyone in the team, rank does not mean better ideas; and smaller tasks are more manageable to tackle.
We shared some ways we have worked together to achieve a solution, not always in perfect harmony (or as we like to call it creative abrasion!), and how ultimately you spend a lot of time at work with your colleagues so make it an enjoyable place to be.
Team Away Day
As part of their team away day, Longhurst invited us to carry out a presentation about branding following the successful brand development work we have carried out with them over the last year.
We looked at what a brand is, what makes them successful, brand identities and personalities and brand values. We also discussed brand perception and how it is owned by consumers, not brands. Most of the team have not been involved in the brand development process and had no prior knowledge of the anatomy of a brand.
We included brand themed games to get everyone involved and make the presentation more interactive.
